The areas on the surface of the sun that are exploding and releasing huge amount of energy are called Photosphere to the following reasons:

- Bright bubbling granules of plasma and darker, cooler Sun Spots is present in the photosphere which emerged when the sun magnetic field breaks through the surface.

- Across the sun's disc sunspot appears to move, by observing this motion astronomers led to realize that the sun rotates on its axis.

- Moreover, Photosphere is also the source of solar flares as it produce brust of ultraviolet radiation, X - rays, radio waves and electromagnetic radiations.
