AM = (a+b)/2
a+b = 20 .............(1)
GM = √a×b
8 = √a×b
ab = 64
b = 36/a
put this value in eq (1)
a + 36/a = 20
a² - 20a + 36 =0
a²- 18a-2a+36 = 0
a(a-18)-2(a-18) = 0
a-18 = 0 or a-2 = 0
a = 18 b = 2
two numbers are 18 and 2
