4x - 1 = 45
4x = 45-1
4x = 44
x = 44/4
x = 11

As the number of marks are 10
Median=(n/2+ 1)
= 10/2 and 12/2
=5 and 6
Mean of 5th and 6th observation is the median
(2x-1+2x)/2 =45
2x-1+2x = 45*2
4x=91
x =91/4
= 22.75
