On the 22nd and 23rd of September 1994, the Eleventh Meeting of the Ministerial Conference of the (EU) and the (ASEAN) was held in Karlsruhe.

• The Ministers conducted a thorough and constructive discussion on a variety of political, security, economic, and other topics. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.
• The Ministers reviewed significant developments in EU-ASEAN relations since their last meeting in Manila on October 29-30, 1992, and praised the outcomes of the 11th Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) held in Davao on January 21-22, 1994.
• Particularly the JCC's decision to establish five subcommittees in the fields of trade, technology and science, industrial and economic cooperation, street drugs, and forest management, in order to just provide guidance and improve close collaboration.
