1. Social divisions do not always lead to conflict. For example, India has a very diverse population which follows many religions, speaks many languages, etc. Still, there is no significantly dangerous conflict.

2. Expressing social divisions in politics allows politicians to promise different things to different groups and allows the politicians to address the grievances of the disparaged groups.

3. Expression of social division can lead to them cancelling each other out which strengthens the democracy and maintains unity of a country.
