the atomic number of 3 elements are 6 7 and 8 respectively
1. write the electronic configuration of each element and give their valency
2. what type of compounds (ionic/ covalent) will be formed by each of the elements? explain.

6 is Carbon ( 2 , 4 )
Covalent Bond because a carbon atom has been no tendency to lose its four valence electrons or gain four more electrons from other atoms. Therefore, carbon atom completes its octet only by sharing its valence electrons with other atoms. As a result, therefore carbon always forms only covalent bonds with other atoms.
7 is Nitrogen ( 2 , 5 )
Nitrogen forms both covalent and ionic bonds. Nitrogen is a nonmetal with 5 electrons in its outer shell.
8 is Oxygen ( 2 , 6 )
Covalent just like the above two and same reasons
