K is the first orbit/shell in which two electrons can exist.

L is the second orbit/shell in which 8 electrons can only exist.

M is the third orbit/shell in which 8 electrons can exist, M shell can actually hold more than 18 electrons .

Boron atomic number is 5,it means that it have only 5 electrons.

In the first orbit (k) only 2 electrons can exist.

Now , the 3 electrons remain will be hold by the second orbit/shell.

It means the outermost last orbit of boron is L shell ( second orbit).
