Formula of the compound is AB and the nature of bonding is ionic or electrovalent bonding as 2 electrons are transferred from element A to Element B

Heya!!

The atomic number of the two elements are
A=12, i.e., the electronic configuration of A will be 2,8,2
B=8 ,i.e., the electronic configuration of B will be 2,6.
Now, since A has 2 excess electrons and B has 2 deficit of electrons, they will form a bond by transfer of electron.
So, the bond will be Ionic in nature.
Since A is metallic (as we can understand from the E.C) and B is a non metal, so the formula will be AB.

Hope it helped.
