element B is Mg (magnesium)

element M is Cl (chlorine)

electronic configuration-

B - 2,8,2

M - 2,8,7

therefore Magnesium ion is Mg2+

& chloride ion is Cl1-

When Mg and Cl will react, they will form MgCl2 (magnesium chloride), This is an example of ionic bond as there is a metal giving electrons and a non metal taking electrons.
