The atomic numbers of three elements, X, Y and Z are 9,11 and 17 respectively. Which two of these elements will show similar chemical properties? Why? Please answer in brief ​

The elements X and Z will show similar characteristics because they differ in their atomic numbers by 8 (9, 17). Both these are halogens and belong to group 17 (halogen family). These are fluorine (Z= 9) and chlorine (Z = 17).

Flourine and Chlorine will show similar type of

chemical properties as they are of same group

i.e. group number 17.
