 \huge \bold{SODIUM(Na)}

◼Sodium is a metal which lies in group 1 and peroid 3 of modern periodic table as strong alkaline metals.

◼It have high metling and boiling point.

◼Since ,it lies in group 1 it has valency +1 and number if shells are three.

◼It forms electrovalent compound and ionic compounds.

◼The oxides and hydroxides are strong alkalies .

  \boxed{\bold{Atomic \: weight = 23 g}}

  \boxed{\bold{Atomic \: number = 11}}

◼Since,

  \boxed{\bold{Atomic  \: number = No \: of  \: protons  \: = \:  No \: of \: electrons}}

 \textbf{So, \:the \:  number \: of \: protons \: are  \: 11}

 \boxed {\bold{Mass \: number = 23}}

◼Since, mass number is equal to the number of protons and neutrons in nucleus

  \boxed{\bold{Mass \: number \: = \: No  \: of \: protons \:  + \: No  \: of \: neutrons}}

23 = 11 + No of neutrons

No of neutrons = 23 -11

 \textbf{No \: of \:  neutrons =12}

◼Distribution of electrons

The distribution of electrons is in the order of shells K,L,M.

Where the number of electrons are {2}^{n} in a shell.

▶So , shell K cannet have not more than 2 electrons.

▶Shell L cannot have more than 8 electrons .

▶Shell M cannot have more than 8 electrons.

So,

 \textbf{Electronic \: configuration \: of  \: sodium \: is \: = 2,8 ,1}

Atomic no. Is the no. Of protons. Protons are positive, for the atom to be neutral, the no. Of electrons shud be equal to the no. Of protons. Therefore, Atomic no. Can be the no. Of electrons, as well.

Mass no is the no. Of neutrons plus the no. Of Protons in the nucleus.

Massno= no. Of neutrons + Atomic no. (No of protons =atomic no)

23=no of neutron + 11

No of neutrons =23–11 =12

No of protons=11

No of electrons=11
