The atoms of copper contain electrons and the atoms of rubber also contain electrons.them why does copper conduct electricity but rubber does not conduct electricity

Copper and rubber both contains electrons but all of them aren't free..
For conducting electricity free electrons are needed.. And since copper has a very large number of free electrons it can conduct electricity very easily whereas rubber contains electrons but none of them are free and hence rubber does not conduct electricity..

Because copper contains free electrons while rubber does not.
