As we know there are mainly 2 stages of photosynthesis:

  • Light-dependant reactions
  • Calvin Cycle

Lets look them in detail:

Light-dependant reactions

  • It takes place at the Thylakoid membrane.
  • It requires sunlight.
  • The chloroplasts captures the light energy and stores as ATP.

Calvin Cycle

  • It takes place at the stroma.
  • It doesn't require sunlight.
  • ATP are converted to sugars.

ATP is formed during the Light-dependant reaction stage of photosynthesis.
