It is usually unethical to keep exotic (often wild) animals as pets as they are not meant to be kept in houses with humans and are, in many cases, taken from their natural habitat into places where they can develop problems such as aggression and diseases. The only situation where it is ethical to take in wild animals is when it is being done for the animals well being and temporarily or if it is by accident, in all other situations it is unethical.
