Explanation:

Grandmother used to recite prayers in whole day.

she also spent her time in the temple when the narrator studied.

As the narrator and his grandmother were close friends when the narrator used to live in village.

But when they moved to the town their relationship took a new turn they are not more able to spend their time together.

But their feelings never changed throughout the lifetime. As when the narrator went to abroad for his higher education grandmother droped him to the station and when the train comes she kissed on his forehead and say goodbye.

And when the narrator returns she went to the station to welcome him and starts singing and she became very happy to saw him.
