First of all, George trod on the butter. After George had got it off his slippers, they tried to put in the kettle. It wouldn't go in, and what was in wouldn't come out. They did scrape it out at last, and put it down on a chair, and Harris sat on it, and it stuck to him, and they went looking for it all over the room. When they didn't find it, they started round the room again looking for it; and then they met again in the center and stared at one another. Then George got round at the back of Harris and saw it. And they got it off, and packed it in the teapot.

The answer has been stated below.

Explanation:

When Gorge and Harris were packing things, they created a lot of mess. It was time for the butter to be packed. They spread salt everywhere and created confusion on the issue of butter. Jerome commented on their mess of butter that in his entire life he had not seen two men who had created such a huge amount of mess just because of a small piece of butter. The butter slipped on the slipper. Further George removed it and it slipped on the chair where Harris sat. The butter got stuck on Harris but still, the two men kept searching for the piece of butter in the entire room.
