Answer:

In the lesson "Ordeal in the Ocean," the author uses many vivid and colourful expressions to describe the ocean, clouds, sky, waves and his own feelings.

According to my opinion Clouds and sky, the expression is the best which I like most. In this lesson Clouds and sky means the sun when it going to set and it says goodbye to us.

Expression liked from the vivid and colourful expression used by author:

(i) Ocean:

(a) Ocean is full of life. There are large fishes that leapt out of water and big birds soared high above my head.

(b) On the third night, the ocean became dark, very much dark from the previous ones.

(ii) Cloud and Sky:

(a) The sky was grey at first, and then bright colours appeared. The blue-violet shades turned into red strips across the sky.

(b) The sun brightly glowed and looked at me for the last time like it was saying goodbye to me.

(iii) Waves

(a) I have never seen such gigantic waves ever in my life. It was huge, enormous and it seems to be touching the sky.

(b) Then I was in a swirling current of water, my body was twisting in all the directions from head to heels, before the waves retired.
