The average age of 3 students is 13.5

The age addition of 2 student is 25

TO FIND :- Age of third student.

SOLUTION :-

Let the age of third student be 'z'

age1 + age2 = 25 (given)

$average = \frac{sum \: of \: ages}{total \: no. \: of \: students} \\ \\ \\ avg. = \frac{age1 + age2 + age3}{3} \\ \\ \\ \implies 13.5 = \frac{25 + z}{3}$

Now, we shall solve this linear equation in one variable ;

$13.5 = \frac{z + 25}{3} \\ \\ \\ \implies z + 25 = 40.5 \\ \\ \\ \implies \boxed{z = 15.5}$

HENCE THE AGE OF THE THIRD STUDENT IS 15.5 yrs [Ans]
