The average age of 4 boys is 13 years. If one of them is 10 years old, what is the average age of the remaining boys?

Answer:

average = sum of age /number of boys

sum of age = average*number of boys

=13*4

= 52

Sum of age 3 boys = 52 - 10

= 42

average age of three boys = 42/3

= 14
