Given:

Average age of
40 employees = 25

Sum of the ages of
40 employees = 40 × 25 = 1000

Let the age of new employee be x .

New average = 25 years + 3 months

= 25.25 years

That is (1000 + x )/ 41 = 25.25

1000 +x = 41 × 25.25

x = 1035.25 - 1000

x = 35.25 years

x = 35 years 3 months

I hope this answer helps you
