(a+b+c+d+e)/5 = y
When z comes in...

y+z/5=(a+b+c+d+e+z)/5 = y

Hope This Helps..

DharamveerSingh: so 5y+z/6
DharamveerSingh: this is the new average
NUTROLLER: 5 is already denoted as y so no need to 5y.
DivySrivastava23: Yes
DharamveerSingh: no
DharamveerSingh: y is not 5
DharamveerSingh: a+b+c+d+e/5=y
DharamveerSingh: that's why I write,,, 5y+z is new total of class
DharamveerSingh: and now total =6
DharamveerSingh: so average is 5y+z/6

Hey there!
Average age of 5 students= y (yrs)
Then one more student joins = z
Average = Total of sum/Number of students
Hence,
Y+Z/6

DharamveerSingh: sorry,,, it's wrong
