Answer:

Let three person be x, y and z respectively

Then x+y+z=60×3=180 .... (1)

The average age of new group will be 52 years.

Given:

the average age of a 20 persons is 54 years in a group. if two persons aged 60 years and 68 years respectively leave the group and a new person aged 36 years join the group

To find:

the average age of new group will be

Solution:

First we will calculate the total of weights

Average = total of weights/ no. of persons

54 = Total of weights/ 20

Total of weights = 54*20

= 1080

No, we will subtract outgoing person's weight and add the weight of new person

New sum of weights = 1080 - 60-68 + 36

= 988

New no. of persons = 20 - 2 + 1 =19

Now, we will calculate average of new group

New average = new sum of weights / new no. of persons

= 988/19

= 52

Hence, the answer is 52.
