Dear Student,

● Answer -

19 boys

◆ Explanation -

Given that the strength of the class is a two digit number. So maximum strength of class can be 99. Let x he no of boys, so no of girls will be 99-x.

Average age of class is 16.4 so,

[x×18 + (99-x)×16] / 99 = 16.4

18x + 1584 - 16x = 16.4 × 99

2x = 1623.6 - 1584

2x = 39.6

x = 39.6/2

x = 19.8

But no of boys can't be a fraction, so maximum no of boys in class can be 19 only.

Thanks dear...
