The average age of a husband and wife was 26 years. At the time of their marriage 6 years ago. Now the average age of husband wife and one child is 23 . Find the age of child

Average age of husband & wife

= (Total age) / 2

:• 26 = Total age / 2

:• 26 × 2 = Total age

:• Total age = 52

So at the time of the marriage 6 years ago the sum of the age of husband and wife is 52.

So after 6 years it will be 52 + (6+6) years. Beacause 6 years husband and 6 years wife age will together 64 years.

Now, with child the average is 23 years so,

Average = (Total age) / 3

:• 23 = Togal age / 3

:• 23 × 3 = Total age

:• Total age = 69 years

So the total age of husband, wife and child now is 69 years.

So, the age of child = 69 - 64 = 5 years

So the child age is 5 years.
