Let age of man be x and son be y.

Then avg age =(x+y)/2= 22

x+y=44

x=44-y ......(i)

Ratio of their age 19:3

x:y=19:3

x/y=19/3

x=19y/3

44-y =19y/3 (from( i) )

132-3y-19y=0

12y=132

y=11 years

x=44-11 =33 years

aadis5454: why do you have 19x and 3x in the eq?
aadis5454: shoudn't one of them be y?
adityakingkhan: that was in ratio it there has a common factor
adityakingkhan: 19:3=19×x/3×x
adityakingkhan: thank
aman240292: sup

Step-by-step explanation:

by average sum of their age will be 22×2

so 19x+3x=44

22x=44

x=44/22

x=2

age of men =2×19

=38

aman240292: bro 2:38 =1:19
aman240292: i think its nt correct
aman240292: also the avg age =2+38/2 =20 years
aman240292: which is incorrect
