adoctor. lawyers
35_______ 50

--------40--------
________________
10---------------- 5( after cross substraction)

so ratio is 2:1

2nd method......
let no. of doctors nd lawyers be x and Y respectively.....
then,
35x + 50y
________ =40
x + y

35x + 50y = 40x + 40y
10y = 5x
10/5 =x/y
so ,x:y =2:1
