Answer:

the ratio of doctors and lawyers = 2:1

Step-by-step explanation:

let the no of doctors = m

let the no of lawyers = n

given average of doctors = 35

d1 +d2+d3+.......+dm / m=35

d1+d2+d3 +.....+dm= 35m

given average of lawyers= 50

L1+L2+L3+......+Ln/n=50

L1+L2+L3+....+Ln=50n

given average of doctors and lawyers = 40

d1+d2+....+dm+L1+L2+.....Ln/m+n= 40

d1+d2+...+dm+L1+L2+....+Ln=40(m+n)

35m+50n= 40m+40n

50n-40n=40 m - 35m

10n=5m

10/5=m/n

2/1=m/n

therefore the ratio of doctors and lawyers is 2:1
