Answer:

hence this is the answer

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the man's age be x years and his son's age be y years .

Now,

According to the question ,

Average of their ages is 28 years

i.e., ( x + y ) / 2 = 28

x + y = 56

x = 56 - y --------------(1)

And , Ratio of their ages is 3 : 1

i.e., x : y = 3 : 1

→ x / y = 3 / 1

→ x = 3y

→ 56 - y = 3y ___ [ From (1) ]

→ 56 = 4y

\Rightarrow \boxed{\: y = 14}⇒

y=14

Putting y = 14 in eq(1) , We get

x = 56 - 14 = 42

\Rightarrow \boxed{\: x = 42}⇒

x=42

Hence,

The man's age is 42 years and his son's age is 14 years

The average age of man and his son is 28yrs.

fathers age = x

sons age= 56-x

Six years hence the ratio of their ages become 12:5

5:12. = x+6. : 62-x

5/12 = (x+6)/(62-x)

5(62-x) = 12(x+6)

5x+12x = 744-30 = 714

17x=714

x=714/17 =42

x+6=48

present age of his son: = 62-42 = 20
