Answer:

Total income = total expenditure + total saving

= Rs. (120 X 5 + 130 X 7 + 290)

Given:

The average expenditure of a man for first 5 months is Rs.120 and for

the next 4 months is Rs.80.

To Find:

Find his monthly income if he had saved

Rs. 25 for nine months.

Solution:

We know that,

Total income = total expenditure + total saving

Here,

Total Expenditure = (120 x 5) + (80 x 4) = 600 + 320 = Rs. 920

Total savings = 25 x 9 = Rs. 225

So,

Total income = 920 + 225 = Rs. 1145

Average monthly income = 1145 / 9 = Rs. 127.22

Hence, the man has a monthly income of Rs. 127.22.
