The average force necessary to stop a hammer having momentum 25N-s in 0.05 second is

BrainlyHulk: Momentum unit is not Ns
BrainlyHulk: It is kgm/s
Sonipankaj: its unit also ns coz momentum also equel to force×time
BrainlyHulk: No it is impulse
Sonipankaj: read theory again..
Sonipankaj: momentum = impulse., which is fdt. and force is equel to dp/dt

Average Force = Rate of change of momentum
= (Final Momentum - Initial Momentum) / Time
= (25 - 0) / 0.05
= 500 N

Average Force required is 500 N
