let the sum of other 39 students height is X .then X+125/40=150,then X=5875 now correct mean height( 5875+165)/40=151

Answer:

151 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The average height of 40 students is 150cm.

Average = (Sum of all heights )/(No. of students)

150= Sum of all heights /40

6000 = Sum of all heights.

Now we are given that one observation 165cm was wrongly copied as 125cm

So, new sum = 6000 -125 + 165 = 6040

So, new mean = 6040/40

                        =151

Hence the new mean is 151 cm
