Answer:

1st to find income of family then when we will subtract income of family to income of 2 members we will get income of 4 remaining members so income of 4 members will be same so income/4 means the income of single member

Then if we multiply by 3 we gets income of 3 members

6 members income =5000 x 6

=30000

2 members income =12000

4 members income =30000-12000

=18000

3 members income =18000/4

=4500

=4500 x 3

=13500

Complete question:

The average income of a family of  six members is five thousand. The income of two of them is twelve thousands. What is the income of the remaining four persons?

Answer:

The total income of the remaining 4 members = 18,000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The average income of a family of 6 members = 5000

Income of two members of the family = 12,000

To find,

The income of the remaining four members of the family

Solution:

Recall the formula

Average = \frac{Sum \ of \ observations}{Total \ number \ of\ observations}

since the average income of a family of 6 members = 5000, we have

\frac{Total\ income \ of\ 6\ members}{6} = 5000

Total income of 6 members of the family = 5000× 6 = 30,000

Total income of two members +  Total income of remaining 4 members = 30,000

Since the income of two members is given as  12,000, we have

12,000+Total income of the remaining 4 members = 30,000

Total income of the remaining 4 members = 30,000 - 12,000

= 18,000

∴ The total income of the remaining 4 members = 18,000
