The health, income performance and education of 189 countries are assessed and ranked under the United Nations Human Development Index.

Although human progress has been inspirational, there is an acknowledge able difference between nations at the top of the index and the ones at the bottom and the most noticeable difference is in life expectancy.

Though ranked 130 in the HDI rankings, Indians' life expectancy has grown by 11 years since 1990.

India’s HDI value rose by 50% from 0.427 to 0.640 and her gross national income per capita was up by a remarkable 266% between 1990 and 2017.
