average=20
mean=sum/total
20=sum/11
sum=20×11=220
FIRST SIX
average=19
mean=sum/total
19=sum/6
sum=19×6=114
LAST SIX
average=22
mean=sum/total
22=sum/6
sum=22×6=132
therefore the middle number is 132-114=18
because it comes both in the first six and the last six numbers

Answer:

The middle term is 18

Step-by-step explanation:

They have given that the average of 11 numbers is 20

Average = \frac{sum}{n}

Here, n is the number of observations.

20=\frac{sum}{11}

Sum of 11 numbers = 220

They have given that the average of the first six numbers is 19

19=\frac{sum}{6}

Sum of the first six numbers= 114

They have given that the average of the last six numbers is 22

22=\frac{sum}{6}

Sum of the last six numbers = 132

The middle term = sum of last six numbers - sum of first six numbers

                            = 132 - 114

                            = 18

Therefore the middle term is 18
