HELLO DEAR,

According to questions,

IN ( 1 ) case:- The average of 2, 7, 6 and x is 5
⇒(2 + 7 + 6 + x)/4 = 5

⇒(15 + x)/4 = 5

⇒15 + x = 20

⇒x = 20 - 15

⇒x = 5------( 1 )

IN ( 2 ) case:- the average of 18, 1, 6, x and y is 10

⇒(18 + 1 + 6 + x + y)/5 = 10

⇒(25 + x + y)/5 = 10

⇒(25 + 5 + y)/5 = 10 -----from( 1 )

⇒(30 + y)/5 = 10

⇒30 + y = 50

⇒y = 50 - 30

⇒y = 20

I HOPE ITS HELP YOU DEAR,
THANKS

Dear Student,

Answer: y = 20
➖➖➖➖➖➖

Solution:

Average of 2, 7, 6 and x is 5

 = \frac{2 + 7 + 6 + x}{4} = 5 \\ \\ \frac{15 + x}{4} = 5 \\ \\ 15 + x = 20 \\ \\ x = 20 - 15 \\ \\ x = 5
Now average of 18, 1, 6, x and y is 10,

as x = 5

put the value of x in given numbers,

numbers are 18, 1, 6, 5 ,y

  \frac{18 + 1 + 6 + 5 + y}{5} = 10 \\ \\ \frac{30 + y}{5} = 10 \\ \\ 30 + y = 50 \\ \\ y = 50 - 30 \\ \\ y = 20
So, the value of y = 20.

Hope it helps you.
