Consider 3 consecutive number as :

x , x+2 & x+4

Average of 3 number is a

so ,

  = \frac{x + x + 2 + x + 4}{3} = a

 \frac{3x + 6}{3}  = a

x + 2 = a

x = a - 2

Next five even numbers will be

x+6,x+8,x+10,x+12,x+14

then

 \frac{x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8 + x + 10 + x + 12 + x + 14}{8}

 \frac{8x + 56}{8}   \\ x + 7

Substituting x=a-2 in x+7

so,

a - 2 = 7

average \: of \: 8 \: consecutive \: number \\  = a + 5
