We have given that, the average of 4 number is 48 . Three of them are 42,50 and 56

Let the 4th number be 'x'

According to question:-

$\rm{\rightharpoonup \dfrac{ 42+50+56 + x}{4} = 48}$

$\rm{\rightharpoonup 148 + x = 48 \times 4}$

$\rm{\rightharpoonup 148 + x = 192}$

$\rm{\rightharpoonup x = 192 - 148}$

$\bf{\rightharpoonup \star \: x = 44 \: \star}$

⚫ Fourth number = x = 44
