let the 5 quantities be a , b , c ,d ,and e
according to the question
!st case- a + b + c + d + e/5 = 6
a + b + c + d + e = 30 ...............(1)
2nd case- a + b + c/3 = 8
a + b + c= 24 ................(2)
putting eq 1 in eq 2
24 + d +e = 30
d + e = 30-24
d + e = 6 ..............(3)
average of remaining two terms .i.e. d and e
d + e /2
putting eq (3)
6/2= 3
ans- 3
