Let us assume that the 6 numbers are a,b,c,d,e and f.

then avg. of the numbers = (a + b + c + d + e + f)/ 6 = 30

that means a + b + c + d + e + f = 30 X 6 = 180   .......(1)

Let us exclude 'a' from the numbers

then we get that avg. as = (b + c + d + e + f)/5 = 29

that means b + c + d + e + f = 29 X 5 = 145       ......(2)

Substracting equ.(2) from equ.(1)

we get,

a = 180-145

a = 35

Hence the excluded number would be equal  to 35.
