First 10 natural nos = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10
This can be taken as an AP where a=1 and d=1
Sum to n terms of an AP = n/2(2a + (n-1)d)
Sum of 1st natural nos = 10/2(2X1 + (10-1)1)
                                     = 5(2+ 9)
                                     = 5X11
                                     = 55
Avg = Sum of the nos/ No of nos
       = 55/10
       = 5.5


                      or simple way,
Sum of the 1st 10 natural nos = 1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10
                                                = 55
Avg = Sum of the nos/ No of nos
       = 55/10
       = 5.5
