Given,

Average of 5 consecutive even numbers  = 26

To Find,

Product of first and last number =?

Solution,

Let the first number be x

Numbers are consecutive even numbers which mean that the difference between each number is 2

So 5 number are: x, x+2, x+4, x+6, and x+8

Average of these numbers  = 26 = Sum of all numbers / Total numbers

26 = (x + x + 2 +x + 4 + x + 6 + x + 8)/5

5x + 20 = 26 * 5

5x + 20 = 130

5x = 130 - 20

x = 110 / 5

x = 22

First number is  22

Last number  = x + 8 = 22 + 8 = 30

Product of first and last number  = 30 * 22 = 660

Hence, the product of the first term and last term is 660
