Step-by-step explanation:

Let the 4 consecutive even numbers = x, x+2, x+4, x+6.

Average= sum of observations/no.of observations

(x+x+2+x+4+x+6)/ 4 = 31

(4x+12)/4 = 31

4x+12= 31×4

4x+12= 124

4x = 124-12

4x = 112

x = 112/4

x = 28

average of 28 and it's next prime number.

average = (28+29)/2

= 57/2

=28.5
