ii ) Let runs scored by captian = x

Sum of runs scored by 10 players = 65 × 10

( 1 ) - x = 650

660 - x = 650

660 - 650 = x

10 = x

Therefore ,

Runs scored by the captain = x = 10

Total number of players in the team = 11

Average of runs scored by 11 players = 60

Total runs scored by 11 players = 11*60 = 660 Runs

We have to find the number of runs scored by the captain.

Let the runs scored by the captain = x

Remaining players  = 11 - 1 = 10

We know that the average of runs scored by remaining 10 players increased by 5

So, average of remaining 10 players = 60 + 5 = 65

Total runs scored by remaining 10 players = 65*10 = 650 runs

Now, according to the question.

⇒ 660 - x = 650

⇒ - x = 650 - 660

⇒ - x = - 10

⇒ x = 10

So, the captain scored 10 runs.
