average = 7+5+3+12 +x/5

8. = 27+x/5

8*5 = 27+x

40- 27 = x

13 = x

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\bf{13}}}}

Let the missing number be 'a'

Average = \frac{Sum\:of\:all\:the\:values}{Number\:of\:the\:values\:given}

=> \frac{7+5+a+3+12}{5} = 8

=> \frac{27+a}{5} = 8

=> a+27 = 40

=> a = 40-27

=> a = 13

Hope it helps you out!!!
