Given : average public high school has 468 students with a standard deviation of 87.

a public school is selected

To Find :  the probability that the number of students enrolled is greater than 400

Solution:

Mean = 468

SD = 87

Z score = ( Value - Mean)/SD

Value = 400

=> Z = (400 - 468)/87

=> Z = -0.7816

0.217

probability that the number of students enrolled is greater than 400

= 1 - 0.217

= 0.783
