The average rainfall for a week ,encluding sunday was 0.3 ,inch due to heavy rainfall on Sunday the average for the week rices to 0.5 inch .How much rainfall was on Sunday?​

Average rainfall for week minus sunday is six days. 0.3*6=1.8

Average rainfall for entire week rose to 0.5 inches if you include Sunday.

0.5*7=3.5

If you subtract the total rainfall you extrapolated for Monday to Saturday (1.8 inches) from the total rainfall you extrapolated from the average rainfall from Sunday to Saturday (3.5 inches), than you get 1.7 inches.

3.5–1.8=1.7 inches

This tells me that you would need an additional 1.7 inches of rain to raise the average from 0.3 inches over six days to 0.5 inches over seven days.
