Total time taken : 3+5= 8 sec
Average speed: 35/8 = 4.375m/s

first displacement traveled by object =10m and. first time =3 sec.
similarly second displacement =15m and second time =5 sec.
then average velocity = total displacement/total time taken
so Ave.. velocity=10+15/5+3=25/8=3.125 m/s.
hence Ave.. velocity=3.125.
