Step-by-step explanation:

let the number of men in the group be x.

therefore , number of women equal to 100-x

NOW , the average weight of hundred people equal to 46 kg.

total weight of 100 people equal to 46× 100 = 4600kg.

average weight of men = 50kg.

total weight of men = 50x kg.

average weight of women = 40kg

total weight of women = 40 ( 100-x )

= 4000 - 40x.

A/Q,

= 4000 - 40x + 50x = 4600

= 10x = 600

= x = 600/ 10

= 60 men.
