The average weight of 8 persons increases by 2.5 kgs when a new person is placed in one of them weighting 65 kgs.What might be the weight of a new person?

2.5 * 8 =20 weight X no.of people
let the average earlier be x.
then the sum = 8x.
now new person replaces a person and average becomes x+2.5 ....
the total number of persons are still 8, so new total of weights of all 8 people will be now
8(x+2.5) = 8x+20.
8x+20
which is 20 more than the previous total….
