average weight of A and B is 24 kg.

(A+B)/2 = 24 ---(1)

if C replaced by A then,

avg. wt. = 20

(C+B)/2 = 20 ---(2)

if C replaced by B then,

avg. wt. = 22

(B+B)/2 = 22 ---(3)

B = 22 years

from equation no. (2)

C+B =40

C=40-22 = 18 years

from equation no. (1)

A+B = 48

A = 48-22 =26 years.
